The secret to a good cushion of air
I used to love camping when I was a child. I do not mind sleeping in a sleeping bag for several days. As I matured, I discovered that my body just is not as it used to be. My idea of roughing it in the great outdoors is to either rent a cottage somewhere or have an air mattress in a very large tent. I much prefer sleep in a bed in a rented cottage, but an air mattress is the second best.
After careful buying a comfortable mattress air, I do not think existed, we managed to find one. The most wonderful is that it comes with a small pump that inflates the air mattress in minutes. The air mattress is about a foot from the ground, so you do not get soil moisture while you sleep. There is nothing worse than waking up and feeling moist and humid. I never used to mind, but apparently my body aches and pains when it is wet. The joys of getting older.
We found our air mattress comfortable at Eastern Mountain Sports. Then they had many different types of air mattresses, we chose it for our needs the best. The vendors were very useful. There were many other stores where they had found a particular air mattress that we liked, but most of these stores has no representatives sales on hand to help us.
We ended up paying a little more for the air mattress, but it was worth it because of legal assistance custom. I was absolutely amazed that the air mattress we chose came in a small box. It does not seem possible. But the clerk gave us a rather small box that are supposed to include the air mattress and pump. I almost laughed, but the look on his face told me he was serious. How fit a queen size mattress fresh air in such a small box? He does it well.
So we went with my brother and his wife for a weekend camping. After pitching our tent and clearing all the rocks, we established our camp for the weekend. About an hour before it starts to get dark, I decided that we should inflate the air mattress. To our great surprise and pleasure, the inflated air mattress completely within two minutes. The salesman was right. I climbed into bed that night, move a little more than expected on the air mattress, but slept very comfortably. I did not smile the next morning when I heard others complaining about having not slept in their sleeping bags.
